There will be food, gin cocktails and music by the campfire
If a night of feasting on delicious food in an ancient woodland sounds like your kind of thing, then you're in luck, as a quirky new forest-based event is happening soon in Leicestershire.

'Campfire Cookout' is being organised by street food events company Campfire, which promises a festival of open fire cooking, cocktails, craft beer and acoustic music.
It will all take place beside campfires, in an ancient woodland on the fringes of Ashby de la Zouch.
According to Campfire director Colin Crowden, the team has been busy during lockdown, getting creative and exploring what they have missed from events and what got them excited to return - which lead to the Campfire Cookouts concept.

"Our Campfire brand takes a blend of traditional and indigenous cooking styles we have learnt on our travels such as Mayan-style pit cooking, open flame wood barbecues and Argentinian asado crosses," Colin told LeicestershireLive.
"We source all of our meats locally and smoke them in-house as well as developing a really hearty vegan menu, roasting and smoking root vegetables to match the punchy flavours in our barbecue menu."
You'll be able to enjoy a 'smorgasbord' of small plates in an informal, casual dining style, picking up dishes as you wander through the woodland and enjoying them next to the campfires.
Try a Sipsmith gin cocktail

You will also have the chance to try specially-created Sipsmith gin cocktails with foraged ingredients such as Horse Chestnut leaves and strawberries, while enjoying the company of fireside drinks host Jarred Brown, master distiller and founder of Sipsmith gin distillery.
As the sun sets, there will be fireside acoustic sets from Warren Stanford and guest under the stars.

"Our intrepid Trailer bar will also be pitched in the woods serving craft beers and natural wines to accompany our acoustic artists for a singalong around our campfire," continued Colin.
"It's wholesome, heart warming stuff and as a community we need to come back together to enjoy each other's company again, even more so in such a beautiful setting."

Campfire Cookout will take place from 4pm until 10pm on Saturday, May 29, at Field Sports UK – an adventure and sports centre set in 23 acres of ancient woodland near Ashby de la Zouch.
Tickets cost £99 and include the full dinner menu including desserts and three Sipsmith special edition cocktails - served in wax-topped bottles.
